Sessions 1 and 2 are mandatory before Sessions 3-6 can be participated in.
Session 1 includes: General test taking strategies and information as well as taking the English and Science sections of a practice test. These tests will be graded before students leave. Session 2 includes: General test taking strategies and information as well as taking the Math and Reading sections of a practice test. These tests will be
graded before students leave. A calculator is necessary for this session.
Sessions 3 through 6 will be rotating through specific testing areas. There will be one session each of reading, math, science, and English. Students will need to provide a calculator for the math sessions. A list of acceptable calculators can be found on the ACT website at http://www.actstudent.org/faq/answers/calculator.html
Once the students work their way through the workshop sessions, students can take advantage of unlimited practice exams here at the Bowie Center. Students can use these practice exams to determine if additional sessions (at a reduced rate) are needed in specific areas. Students are encouraged to take as many practice tests as they want and will have detailed answer explanations sent home with them each time.
