Field Trips!
Our trips to Nashville!
Nashville Field Trip: December 4th, 2009.

We began our day at the State Museum and Capitol and then went to Opryland for lunch.  After a surprise visit from a former student, we all went across the parking lot to the ICE! exhibit.  There we put on freezer coats and took a tour through Charlie Brown's world.  Students got to slide down two different sized ice slides and see all of the beautiful ice that had been carved into Charlie and his friends.

We had so much fun last fall in Nashville, that we decided to take a Fall 2010 trip as well.  This year, we have gotten so big that we had to get a charter bus to take everyone!  It was a blast!  We started our day at the State Capitol and then worked our way to the Tennessee State Museum.  At the Museum, kids once again got to participate in a Scavenger Hunt across the museum.  Students were looking for things like which President from TN had an impeachment hearing to what types of things were needed in a frontier kitchen.  We went to McDonald's for lunch and then went to get our tickets for ICE!.  When we got to ICE! we found out that SNOW! was not going to open until Thanksgiving because the weather had been too warm.  We still had lots of fun sliding at ICE!  We then headed to the Parthenon to run off some energy and eat some of the yummy cookies George brought to share.  We had dinner at the Parthenon and then got to go see the beautiful Christmas lights outside the Opryland Hotel.  On the bus trip back we even got to watch some movies!

Pictures to come!

Information for Parents
As you all know, students at the Bowie Center participate in many service projects throughout the year.  One thing that we do each year is take baked goods to the fire station down the street.  Here are a few pictures of the kids from Spring 2009.

Now that we have students in a music program, each of our holiday celebrations includes a performance!  Below are some pictures, and eventually video of what your students are doing!

Earthquake Drills in Spring 2010.

Gracie D and Ms. Charlotte taught us about the earthquake fault we live on and what we should do in an earthquake situation.
