Dr. Bowie served as Vice President of Harding University and President of Harding Academy from 1958-1998. Sherri has taught in several schools in the Memphis area including Harding Academy and Woodland Presbyterian. She has served as principal of a private school. After the passing of her brother, Bobby, the founder of the Bowie Reading and Learning Center, she decided to leave the private school sector and continue his legacy by moving to Nashville and running the original Bowie Center. The family later decided that it was time to open an additional location bringing Sherri back to Memphis. You can now find Sherri at the Bowie Center almost any time of the day ready to work with students and parents in whatever areas may be needed.
